Frigidaire dishwasher error codes: what each one means
This table covers Frigidaire dishwasher display codes, message codes and older electronic control readouts that can appear on models sold through common retail channels. Use it to match the code on the display to the likely system involved, then start with the safe check listed before deciding whether a technician is needed.

Answered by an independent appliance repair company that serves your area. Not a call center.
Codes appear in the door display or status window; models without a display may use flashing option or status lights for power loss or door open, or a RINSE AGENT LOW light for rinse aid. To clear a code, close and latch the door, press START/CANCEL or CANCEL, then unplug the dishwasher for 3 minutes before trying a new cycle, and unplug before cleaning filters or checking a visible hose. 01-24, 1-199, HO or Hd, LOC and L0-L6 are status messages rather than failed parts.
The company will ask for it first. It's on a sticker or metal plate, usually in one of these spots:
- Open the door: on the left or right edge of the tub or door
- Some models: on the top edge of the door

Common questions about appliance repair
How do I reset a Frigidaire dishwasher code?
Press START/CANCEL or CANCEL, then unplug the dishwasher for 3 minutes before trying a new cycle. If a leak, motor, heater, vent, sensor or control code returns, have a technician diagnose it.
Why does i20, i40 or iF0 keep coming back?
Those codes point to draining, filters, the sump area or the drain hose. Unplug the dishwasher, clean the filters you can reach from inside the tub and check the visible drain hose for kinks, then have a technician check it if the code returns.
Why does my older Frigidaire show ER/uo, ER/uF or ER/CE instead of i codes?
Many older electronic controls used ER style readouts for vent, fan, switch and configuration faults. Newer owner guides often use i10 through iC0 for fill, drain, leak, motor, heat and control faults.
Is CL a broken latch?
Usually no. CL, Cd or CLOSE means the door is open or not fully latched, but if the door will not latch after checking racks and dishes, a technician should inspect the latch.
