Washer problems and error codes
Most washer calls come down to a handful of faults: a clogged pump filter, a lid or door lock that won't confirm, a worn part in the drive. Pick your symptom or code below. If the checks don't clear it, one call connects you with an independent repair company near you.
A person answers Mon-Fri 9am-5pm local time. Outside those hours, leave a message and a company near you calls back.

Read the fix →Repair it or replace it?
The rule most technicians use: if the repair would cost more than half of a comparable new unit and the appliance is past two-thirds of its typical life, replace it. A good repair company will say so on the phone.
Placement changes the math. A washer in a hot garage or a fridge in an unheated porch wears out years ahead of the same model in a kitchen, so tell the company where it sits.
Hatched span is the upper end you shouldn't count on for a unit in a garage or other unconditioned space. Ranges are the manufacturer figures technicians work from, not a promise about your unit.
Washer guides by brand
Brand names identify the appliance you own and do not imply any affiliation with the manufacturer.
Common questions about appliance repair
Is it worth repairing a washer or should I replace it?
If the machine is under about eight years old and the fault is a pump, lock or belt, repair usually makes sense. Bearings and tub seals on an older front-loader are the point where a lot of technicians suggest replacing it.
Can I reset a washer that's showing a code?
Unplugging it for a minute clears the code on most models. If the same code comes back on the next cycle, the fault is still there and the guide for that code is the place to start.
What does it cost to have a washer looked at?
Each company sets its own service-call and repair rates. Ask for the diagnostic fee and whether it's applied to the repair before you book.
