Frigidaire dryer error codes: what each one means
This guide covers common confirmed Frigidaire dryer fault codes from display dryers, no-display dryers, and laundry center dryer controls. Use it to match the code to the plain meaning, then start with the safe homeowner check shown in the table. If the code points to wiring, heater, control, or line power testing, use a technician.
A person answers Mon-Fri 9am-5pm local time. Outside those hours, leave a message and a company near you calls back.
Answered by an independent appliance repair company that serves your area. Not a call center.
Codes appear on display models as E plus numbers or letters. On some no-display laundry centers, count the red START or PAUSE blinks for the first digit and green blinks for the second digit, with A as 10 through F as 15. A power reset may clear a simple alert; stored history on some models clears from diagnostic mode, such as Select or Dry Temp with Cancel as listed for that model. Some status messages are not faults: LOC is control lock, PAU is paused, PF is power failure, ad is auto dry, dn is cycle done, E00 means no saved fault, Close Dryer Door asks you to close the door, and Clean Lint is a reminder.
The company will ask for it first. It's on a sticker or metal plate, usually in one of these spots:
- Inside the door opening, on the frame
- Some models: on the back panel

Includes common codes from Affinity, Gallery, front control dryer tech sheets and laundry center dryer tech sheets. Code sets vary by model; some older dryers use E10 to EAF style codes, while newer laundry centers use E41 to EF6 blink codes.

Common questions about appliance repair
Can I clear a Frigidaire dryer code myself?
Try a brief power reset, then restart the cycle. If the same code returns, write it down and have a technician check the dryer.
Why does a code come back after I clean the lint screen?
The exhaust duct, outside hood, moisture sensor bars, heater circuit, thermostat, or control may still have a problem. Stop using the dryer if a heat, thermostat, line power, or control code keeps returning.
Do older and newer Frigidaire dryers use the same codes?
No. Older Affinity and Gallery sheets use codes like E4A, E5B, E68, and EAF, while newer laundry centers use E41 through EF6 blink codes.
Is Clean Lint a dryer fault code?
No. Clean Lint is a reminder or advisory light on some laundry centers, and it may blink after a cycle even after the lint screen has been cleaned.
Still showing the problem after the checks?
Call and describe what you tried. You'll be connected with an independent repair company near you.
