Samsung refrigerator error codes: what each one means
This list covers Samsung refrigerator error codes a homeowner may see on door display and Family Hub models. Use the meaning to identify the system involved, then use the first check to decide whether a reset, thaw, door check, or technician is the safer next step.

Samsung refrigerators show codes on the door temperature display or in Family Hub Self Check under Apps, Fridge Manager, Fridge Settings, Self Check. Write the code down before resetting; only clear the codes that the manual says to clear, such as a 60 second power reset for power codes or the Cooling Off button hold for OF OF, O FF, or OFF OFF. AP, all icons flashing, Ice Off blinking, and Cooling Off are status messages rather than failed part codes.
The company will ask for it first. It's on a sticker or metal plate, usually in one of these spots:
- Inside the fresh-food section, on a side wall near the top
- Some models: on the ceiling or behind the crisper drawer

Can I reset a Samsung refrigerator code by unplugging it?
Only when the row or your model manual says to do so. For listed power or voltage codes that call for it, write down the code, unplug the refrigerator or turn off the breaker for 60 seconds, then restore power.
Why does the same Samsung refrigerator code have E and C versions?
Samsung uses E and C on different display and service-code formats for similar fault groups. The exact meaning can still vary by model, so check the model manual when a code conflicts.
What if the code comes back after the first check?
Stop resetting the refrigerator and contact a technician or a repair company. Repeated sensor, heater, fan, inverter, compressor, and board communication codes usually need internal diagnosis.
Are AP, OF OF, Ice Off, and all icons flashing faults?
AP, OF OF or O FF, Ice Off blinking, and all icons flashing are usually status messages. They can point to setup mode, Cooling Off mode, a misseated ice bucket, or a startup self check rather than a failed part.
