Frigidaire oven error codes: what each one means
This table covers Frigidaire oven fault codes seen on many US range ovens and wall ovens. Use the meaning to understand what the control detected, then try only the safe first check listed before calling a technician.

Frigidaire oven codes usually appear on the clock or touch control display. Try clearing a fault by turning the oven off, unplugging it for 30 seconds, or switching the breaker off and back on; for a lock display or a single hyphen, hold OFF for 6 seconds on models that use that control, and Demo Mode is a status setting rather than a failed part.
The company will ask for it first. It's on a sticker or metal plate, usually in one of these spots:
- Behind the storage drawer, on the frame
- Or on the oven frame, visible with the door open
Frigidaire oven & range error codes
Covers Frigidaire range ovens and wall ovens, including codes for modular oven controls, ES style controls, and double wall oven controls when those codes appear in the model wiring sheet.
28 codes
F10The control sensed a possible thermal runaway condition, which can mean the oven is too hot or the temperature sensor or control reading is wrong. Full guide →Needs a technician because this can be an unsafe heat condition; turn the oven off, let it cool, and disconnect power if it keeps heating.Usually a technicianF11 / F011 / F1The control detected a stuck, shorted, or continuously pressed key on the keypad or touch panel. Full guide →Press Stop or Cancel, make sure nothing wet or heavy is holding a key, then unplug the oven for 30 seconds.Often a home checkF30The oven temperature sensor circuit is open, so the control cannot read the oven temperature correctly.Unplug the oven for 30 seconds, then try one oven cycle only if the cavity is cool and the code is gone.Usually a technicianF31The oven temperature sensor circuit is shorted, so the control is reading an invalid temperature signal. Full guide →Unplug the oven for 30 seconds, then stop using oven heat if the code returns.Usually a technicianF90 to F95The door lock motor, latch, or lock sensing circuit did not reach the expected locked or unlocked position. Full guide →Press UNLOCK if your control has that key, let the oven cool fully, then reset power for 30 seconds.Often a home checkF12The control detected a micro identification, keypad map, or control configuration problem.Needs a technician because control identification faults usually involve the electronic control or its configuration.Usually a technicianF13On many controls this is a saved memory or checksum fault; on some model sheets F13 is listed differently, so use the model wiring sheet.Needs a technician because F13 can change by control family and usually needs model-sheet diagnosis after one power reset.Usually a technicianF3 / F20 / F26A communication error was detected between oven controls or related boards.Unplug the oven for 30 seconds, then contact a technician if the code returns.Usually a technicianF01, F02, F04, F05The touch panel reported a failure on models that use leading zero F codes.Needs a technician because touch panel replacement or control diagnosis may be needed if one power reset does not clear it.Usually a technicianF03The oven user interface board is incorrectly configured for the model.Needs a technician because an incorrectly configured user interface board usually requires part verification or replacement.Usually a technicianF14The control detected a keyboard tail, flat cable, or control to touch panel connection problem.Needs a technician because the flat cable or keyboard tail is inside the control area.Usually a technicianF15The keypad or oven control self check failed.Needs a technician because a keyboard error or control self check failure usually points to the touch panel or display control.Usually a technicianF16The oven user interface board cannot read the potentiometers on models with knob controls.Make sure all knobs are fully in the Off position, then unplug the oven for 30 seconds.Usually a technicianF17The oven user interface board could not configure the touch panel.Needs a technician because the user interface and touch panel must be checked inside the control area.Usually a technicianF18The oven relay board reported a failure.Needs a technician because relay board faults involve internal high voltage oven controls.Usually a technicianF19The user interface board could not configure the oven relay board.Needs a technician because the user interface and oven relay board communication path must be diagnosed.Usually a technicianF22 / F25 / F27Communication between the user interface board and the oven relay board failed or could not start.Unplug the oven for 30 seconds, then contact a technician if the code returns.Usually a technicianF23 / F28 / F29Communication between the user interface board and the glass touch panel failed or could not start.Unplug the oven for 30 seconds, then contact a technician if the code returns.Usually a technicianF33The meat probe sensor is shorted, not fully seated, or reading too hot. With the oven cool, remove the meat probe if installed, then insert it fully only when using a probe cooking mode.Often a home checkF43The cooling fan speed is being read as too slow.Needs a technician because checking the cooling fan and speed sensor requires access to internal parts.Usually a technicianF44The cooling fan speed is being read as too fast.Needs a technician because fan speed sensing and fan wiring checks are internal repairs.Usually a technicianF50The oven relay board cannot read a valid door or motor door lock switch signal.Needs a technician because the relay board is not reading the door or motor door lock switch status correctly.Usually a technicianF62The oven control is missing the zero crossing signal used by the electronic boards.Needs a technician because this fault involves the timing signal between electronic oven boards.Usually a technicianF96The oven door was detected open during a self clean cycle.Cancel self clean, let the oven cool until the door unlocks, then make sure the door closes fully before trying self clean again.Often a home checkF97The relay board sensed the motor door lock in a state that did not match what the user interface expected.Needs a technician because the motor door lock state is invalid inside the control circuit.Usually a technician-A single hyphen means the cooktop or control lock feature is active, not that an oven part has failed.Hold OFF for 6 seconds to cancel the lock feature.Often a home checkF40 / F41The range detected a cooktop lockout condition on models with that feature.Turn the lock feature off if available, then reset power for 30 seconds if the range will not respond.Often a home checkDEMO MODEThe oven is in Demo Mode, which is a display and controls mode rather than a heating fault.Cycle power, open the settings menu, and turn Demo Mode off if your model has that menu item.Often a home checkDon't see your symptom?

How do I clear a Frigidaire oven code?
Turn the oven off, unplug it for 30 seconds, then plug it back in. If the plug is not reachable, switch the circuit breaker off and back on.
Why does the same code come back after a reset?
A returning code usually means the control is still detecting the same fault. Stop using oven heat if the code involves heat, door lock, wiring, or control failure, and contact a technician.
Are older Frigidaire F codes the same as newer ones?
Not always. Some controls use F1, F3, or F13 differently, so the exact model guide or wiring sheet should be treated as final.
Is Demo Mode a broken oven code?
No. Demo Mode is a status setting that lets the display work without normal heating, and it is usually cleared through the settings menu after cycling power.
