F11 code Frigidaire range: what it means and what to check
Your Frigidaire range is beeping, showing F11, and may ignore the Clear or Off key. This page explains what that code means, what you can safely try from the front of the range, and what a technician tests if it comes back.

The F11 code Frigidaire range fault means the oven control sees a key as held down or shorted; on some models, the tech sheet also includes a selector switch. Common causes include moisture or cleaner behind the overlay, a damaged touch panel, a loose ribbon connection, or a failed control input.
Check these first
Safe to do yourself. Unplug the appliance before you start.
- Reset power safely
Turn the range off at the breaker or unplug it if the plug is easy to reach. Leave it off for at least 5 minutes, then restore power and set the clock before trying Bake, since many Frigidaire controls won't start a heat cycle until the clock is set.
- Check for a pressed key
Wipe the face of the control with a barely damp cloth, then dry it. Look for a knob, towel, pan, or sticky spill holding a keypad button down.
- If it started after cleaning
Turn power off and let the console sit. Spraying cleaner right at the display can wick behind the overlay; if moisture is the trigger, the code may clear after it dries.
- Look at the keypad face
From the front only, look for bubbling, cracks, loose corners, or spots that feel swollen. Those marks point to a membrane overlay that may keep one key electrically closed.
- Stop using the oven if F11 returns
If F11 comes back as soon as power is restored, don't keep cycling the breaker all evening. The control is seeing a stuck key, so a technician should test the keypad and control board.
Every Frigidaire oven & range error code in one table, with what each means and what to check first →
The company will ask for it first. It's on a sticker or metal plate, usually in one of these spots:
- Behind the storage drawer, on the frame
- Or on the oven frame, visible with the door open
Conditions that make this more likely
Boards fail earlier in hot rooms
Electronics are rated for room temperature. In a garage or an unconditioned laundry room in summer, a control board can sit well above that for hours a day. Before replacing a board, a good technician confirms the parts it controls test good, since a shorted pump or valve can take out a new board too.
What a technician tests
Most likely part first. These are for a technician with a meter and the tech sheet, not a weekend project.
Don't see your symptom?
Describe it on the phone. The company on the other end works on these every day and will know what to ask.

Can I reset an F11 code on a Frigidaire range?
Yes. Turn power off for at least 5 minutes, restore power, then set the clock. If F11 returns quickly, the reset didn't clear the part fault.
Why did F11 show up right after I cleaned the console?
Cleaner can run behind the touch panel and bridge the keypad contacts. Leave power off while it dries, and in the future spray the cloth rather than the display.
Does F11 mean the control board is bad?
Usually it points first to the keypad, touch panel, or selector switch on models that use one. The board becomes suspect when the model's keypad or selector tests normal, when F11 remains with the keypad isolated, or when the board shows spill damage, corrosion, or burned contacts.
Can I keep using the range while F11 is beeping?
Don't use the oven if the code won't cancel or the door lock acts oddly. If the console may be wet, leave power off until it has dried or been checked.
Do Frigidaire wall ovens use the same F11 meaning?
Yes, Frigidaire wall ovens can display F11 for a stuck keypad. The test path is similar, though the control panel layout changes by model.
